Membership Form

By joining the Society of Cork Potters you will be able to take part in Exhibitions, Workshops, Meetings and other events organised by the Society. Where the Society opens events to non-members, paid-up Members will have priority and be able to take part at reduced rates.

Rules for Associate Membership of the Society of Cork Potters.

  • Open to anyone with an interest in ceramics, including makers, students, collectors and enthusiasts who live or work in Cork city or County.
  • Associate Members are eligible to take part in the Society’s Annual Exhibition, Workshops, Meetings and other events at reduced rates, organised by the Society.
  • Associate Members are expected to attend meetings whenever possible and to actively participate in the organisation and administrative tasks of the group.
  • The annual Associate membership fee covers the 12 months running from mid-March to mid-March
  • Application for Associate membership is made by submitting an application form and payment of the yearly subscription fee of €30, subject to change.
  • The Society reserves the right to refuse Associate membership, at the discretion of the membership committee. In this case, any fees paid will be refunded.

Rules for Full Membership of the Society of Cork Potters.

  • Open to ceramic artists/craftspeople who live or work in Cork city or County, and who produce work of a consistent high quality, may apply for 'Full Membership of the Society of Cork Potters.
  • Applications for 'Full Membership must be accompanied by images and examples of work will be reviewed by the SoCP membership committee.
  • The Society is looking for the work submitted to be of a consistently high professional standard and to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge and mastery of clay, awareness of techniques, creativity and technical ability.
  • Successful applicants for 'Full Membership are able to apply for ‘a member's web page’ on the society web site with payment of set-up fee, at present €20 but this is subject to change.
  • Full Members who do not pay their subscription on time will lose their entitlement to a member's web page, and the page will be taken down. Reinstatement of the page will incur a further set up fee cost.
  • Full members are eligible to submit work for all exhibitions organised by the Society.
  • Full members are eligible to vote at the A.G.M.

How to become a Member.

If you wish to become a member, fill in the application form on this page, or send the completed form and between 3 and 10 images of your current ceramic work, one image of yourself, and a cheque or bank draft for €50, to the Membership Secretary.

The €50 covers €30 annual subscription and €20 (Full members only) once-off set-up fee for your member's web page.

 

Send the form and images by email to: info@claregreene.com. You can either post the cheque or bank draft to the address given on the form or you may pay it by bank transfer into the Society's bank account, detailed on the form, with your name in the "Details/message/narrative" panel.
