From last August’s hugely successful inaugural year – Cork’s Clay Trail returns in 2023!

What is on offer:

Cork Potter’s & Ceramic Artists present Clay Trail as part of Craft Month 2023. A collection of events organised in collaboration with members of the Society. Take a visit to one of our studio’s, watch the artists at work and have a chat, or perhaps get involved and make a piece of ceramic art of your own.

There is lots on offer:

Saturday 5th August – Build your own Ceramic House - (SOLD OUT)

Build your own ceramic house using the “Slab Building” technique. Participants will get to explore how to construct their own structure with a step by step half day workshop with ceramic artist Brendan Ryan.

Materials and equipment will be supplied, and your piece will be fired and glazed after the workshop. Price of workshop €65 including all materials. Numbers limited to 8 people.

Step by step instructions to create your own soap dish from Susan Herlihy ceramics and gift gallery

An opportunity to get hands on learning about the slabwork technique,  experiment with different texture and add your desired colour.

Lets ditch the soap bottles and get our hands on a soap bar!!

Visit Ireland’s most southern ceramic workshop to take a behind the scenes look at pottery production. Meet Ceramic artist Catherine Ryan in her studio.

August TBC – Raku Workshop

Jim Turner and Etain Hickey will be running a weekend Raku workshop at Rossmore Pottery, P85 K232, on the Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August, 10.30-3.30,  limited to 8 persons (adults) each day.

All pots, glazes etc will be provided on the day so that participants can take home finished pieces at the end of the session. Fee will be 35euro per head to cover the cost of materials and gas for firing.

Thursday 31st August - All at Sea Tile Making Workshop

Join Ceramic Artists Bernadette Tuite for this have-a-go Tile making workshop inspired by found materials from our local Atlantic shores celebrating Cork Craft Month 2023.

Experimenting with drift wood and dried seaweeds participants can mark make and add texture to their Tile making endeavours in a fun and engaging have a go clay experience.
