The Craft & Design Collective presents CLUSTER, an exhibition of work by the Society of Cork Potters , at Space CRAFT our Shop, Gallery and Exhibition Area, up the escalator at The Fountain Centre, College Street, Belfast, from Friday 2 to Saturday 31 May 2014.
‘We are delighted to bring our work to Belfast to engage with new viewers who may not know our work and to open a new conversation about ceramics and pottery.
The surface is what the public see and ultimately what attracts a viewer to a piece, but underneath the surface is the time, skills learnt over years, concepts, experimentation, failed experimentation, trials and techniques spent on creating each piece as a whole.
As a group of Artist|Designer|Makers we have come together as a ‘cluster’ to exhibit all our varied surfaces and techniques, from graffito to lustre, from glaze techniques and experimentation with clay bodies to inform the viewer about what ceramics and pottery really is – time and thought, sensitivity to and passion for the medium of clay.

Space CRAFT is a non-profit taking social economy enterprise managed by the Craft & Design Collective.
