About

After spending many years working in different careers, I returned to college to study art in the Crawford College of Art and Design. There I discovered my passion for ceramics. I graduated in 2017 with an Honours Degree in Applied Art and Design. I was awarded a 12-month internship in the Ceramic Department of Crawford as part of my Degree Show. In 2018 I was awarded a 3-month internship in the International Ceramic Studios, Kecskemet, Hungary. I currently work from my home studio in Whitechurch Co. Cork, and I also teach ceramics through the Cork ETB as a part time tutor.

Through my work I like to explore the environment I live in and my connection to it. In my current work I explore Irish vernacular architecture. I am interested in old Irish buildings and their unique qualities, and I like to reimagine them in ceramic. My forms are usually hand built or thrown on the potter’s wheel and Raku fired.
